WEDDING, ENGAGEMENT, LIFESTYLE AND EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi there, my name is Andrew.

For as long as I can remember, art has been a central part of my life. Some of my fondest childhood memories are filled with the sounds of my grandmother composing on the piano, my mother designing beautiful floral arrangements as she built her dream business, and my father crafting furniture for our home. In many ways, creativity was woven into every corner of my upbringing. Instead of playing with toys or watching VHS tapes, I gravitated toward a pencil and paper, always encouraged to think creatively and explore new interests.

I experimented with different artistic mediums throughout my early years until I discovered my true calling in photography. Armed with a hand-me-down camera and an old computer, I created some truly terrible images, but I loved every moment of the process. Photography quickly became an escape for me, something I devoted myself to mastering. Over time, I improved, and soon I was inseparable from my camera and lens.

I am drawn not just to documenting moments, but to capturing the essence of how they feel. Photography is my way of telling stories through emotion. I strive to create art that reflects the depth of each moment.

Why film?

In a time when digital technology is more advanced than ever, you might wonder why I still choose to shoot film. For me, film holds a special kind of magic. It's authentic, raw, and beautifully imperfect. Every frame carries a richness that feels like a memory-- something tangible, with subtle grain and tones that evoke a sense of nostalgia. Film has a way of capturing life in its purest form, where the imperfections only add to its charm and timeless quality.

But beyond the aesthetic, what truly draws me to film is the process. There's a sense of intention in every shot, knowing that each frame counts. The excitement of coming home, developing a fresh roll, and pulling that strip of negatives from the tank for the first time is incomparable. It's a thrill that never fades, and it keeps me deeply connected to the craft.

That being said, I also embrace digital when it's the right tool for the moment. Weddings, in particular, have fast-paced, fleeting moments that demand the speed and precision of digital photography. There are times when capturing every detail, perfectly in focus, is essential. However, what I love most is blending the two worlds. Through careful editing, I'm able to merge the timeless beauty of film with the accuracy of digital, creating a seamless, cohesive gallery that brings out the best of both mediums.
